Josh Denson is a man of action. As the owner and founder of Suburban Sound Syndicate, he has a vision of what all his company will one day encompass. Start small, dream big. Into the future he peers, steadily aligning his actions for today, to bring his dream into reality. He gleams lessons from past experiences and applies his hard gained knowledge to improve not only himself, but everyone around him. One day, one step at a time. His community grows in strength thanks to his efforts. 

There are many traits that encourage Josh’s leadership. Humble, driven, motivated, persistent, and respectful to name a few. He has a community-oriented focus, as well the understanding that the time he’s investing in building Suburban Sound Syndicate will pay off in the end. That’s another aspect of being a good leader. Patience. In a world obsessed with immediate gratification, the most successful in life will tell you anything worth gaining is worth sacrificing for. Vision. That means long days working and long nights planning what moves must come next. In this case, it’s all about the music, and Josh’s labor is one of love. 

Music has been a part of Josh’s life since he can remember. He’s always been in one music scene or another, playing in a marching band in high school, and even a punk band later on with songs on record and an album to his credit. Music is what drew Josh to Cairo and cemented his love for the electronic scene. Even after Cairo closed its doors in 2022, Josh wasn’t ready to call it quits. Music is a mainstay in his life, and he’d take steps to ensure the show would go on. 

Josh threw his first Syndicate Sound Session in August of 2023 at a Skatepark in Elgin to fantastic effect. Shortly thereafter, he’d become the ‘EDM Guy’ at Rookie’s Rochaus in West Dundee, the hosting venue for the four Syndicate Sound Sessions that followed. With every concert thrown he had another successful episode to his name and the reputation of his syndicate grew.  

Even when hiccups happen behind the scenes, Josh remains cool and collected and takes it all in stride. You’ll sense his calm demeanor within moments of meeting him. He has a soft voice, big ideas, and a caring and compassionate heart. He’s also a plant and animal daddy as well as a lover people. More attributes that make him easy to follow and get along with. 

Josh is invested in representing something different than the corporate mentality you see elsewhere. It’s not a Fight Club scenario, but at the very foundation, Josh and his supporters are trying to streamline grass roots concerts and shows. The idea is to give more instead of asking others to take less. Actions speak louder than words, and Josh knows that if you want something done in a particular way, often you need to do it yourself.
