Nova Root-Blaese is both artist and owner of Galactic Roots Eclectic. It’s a great name for a small business that connotates cosmic wayfaring across the broad range of sources Nova is passionate about. Cute all the way through to macabre. Through Galactic Roots Eclectic, Nova makes and sells an assortment of art pieces, jewelry, decals, and crocheted items reflecting the myriads of interests Nova finds pleasing.

Nova has always enjoyed creating and has a knack for trying different art processes. Most of Nova’s life, art and crafting were merely outlets for creativity. Over time, her confidence grew, and the walls of inhibition finally lowered thanks to her super supportive partner. When we receive encouragement from others, it builds our confidence. That’s the way it was with Nova thanks to her husband, Ken.

In late 2020, Nova began moving forward with Galactic Roots Eclectic. Her first vending experience came in October 2021 courtesy of Thotbreaker, who along with Wanderlust Commissions, were major mentors to Nova in the early stages of forming her own brand and business. The very first time Galactic Roots Eclectic vended on their own came on April 20, 2022, a very dope date to be sure. From there, her path into the future was set.

Nova’s creations are certainly eclectic, and all made by her own hands. When you approach Galactic Roots

Eclectic’s table, you’ll find an assortment of jewelry and other items for sale. Earrings adorned with little mushrooms paired with aces of hearts and diamonds. Necklaces fashioned with ominous looking pendants? Absolutely. Level 9 turtles? Mport knows, she’s got them covered. How about blood spattered cleavers, knives, and ghosts for those who enjoy a more haunting and horrific aesthetic? Yup! Check that off your list, good buddy. They’re morbid looking and made with love.

Nova absolutely loves Halloween. She was born in October, on Friday the 13th, and is a self-described spooky girl forever. A PLURR spooky girl, she dabbles in spirituality. Incantations, runes, sigils, tarot cards, and elements of the like are prominently represented within her inventory. If she’s whipping up a batch of spell jar necklaces, her intention is guided by self-love and protection. In her words, “A little energy and positivity goes a long way.”

Nova is a wonderful person with an easy smile, bright mind, and an engaging personality. She adores the underground vibe of the spaces she frequents and harbors a plethora of love for fellow humans. Besides her passion for art and vending within the electronic community, Nova also appreciates theater. She studied theatrical production and technology at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.
